Question Could pregnancy cause this?

I have a cow which may or may not be pregnant. When we bought her and our other "heifers" we were told none were bread, but since then one of them dropped a calf (have posted other threads about that one). Now, I have one that is constantly getting out of my fences, while the other 3 are very content on staying in the current pasture. I do grain and hay feed every day since my pasture is gone due to the dry weather. Could she be doing it because she is pregnant? I don't see a change in her bag yet. Any thoughts?

Not likely, sounds like she is a fence crawler. The only way you MIGHT stop this is with electric fence, and that might only work so long as the fence is hot. She will teach the others to do the same thing, sooner or later. Might even be the reason she was sold. She wouldn't last long around here, it is one of a few things that will pretty much guarantee culling around here.

My white cow tests the electric fence with her whiskers and will bust out every chance she gets. Taught her daughter the same trick; now I swear it's a contest to see who can escape first! That apple didn't fall far from the tree ...

I doubt it has anything to do with pregnancy, especially if the pasture in their paddock is exhausted ... in which case, the grass really IS greener on the other side of the fence!

I have seen an unbred cow go looking for a bull before, she wanted a calf also. You know how women are!

I've seen that too, but if she is getting out all the time, that won't be why....
