when to breed?

Was asking a lady from church if she knew anyone with a heifer. She has a 3/4 jersey/guernsey (SP) cross heifer thats 7 months old and bred.....
this is kinda early isn't it? She said she's a pretty big girl but....

I've seen a Holstein drop a calf around 16 months..

But that's pretty early. Prefer to have them freshen around the 2 year mark.

i will recheck...asked my daughter who was with and she heard 7 months too..but neither of us are very bright:>)

maybe they meant the heifer was 7 months along?
