What other details can you give us? In that case I have a fair few questions for you:

How big is your acreage or farm, if you've bought one already, or how big is the area you want to keep your milk cow? Do you have fencing, water, and feed up? Do you know what the costs will be for feeding your family milk cow? What breed[s] are you interested in? How old would you like to start raising her, from a calf or from buying a cull dairy cow from another dairy farm? Do you have any other animals that you have to keep her company 24/7? If not, are you willing to take on another animal along with the family cow, particularly a heifer? Do you have any plans for breeding her, or understand that you may have to have her bred at another farm or get her AI'd in order for her to keep producing milk? Do you have access to a large animal veterinarian in case things go wrong?

I could go on, but we need to know a LOT more from you than the fact that you would like to get a "nice family milk cow." The questions may seem like a lot, but they will help us a lot in telling you where to go, what to do, etc.

Yes i know what it takes to care for a family milk cow i had one in Idaho before i moved to Texas.I sold her to a good friend there and now im wanting one i can milk for the family here.I would like a jersey or jersey cross but as long as its a good dairy breed it would work.I have 10 acres of good grass and i have already bought 5 tons of good alfalfa and other feed for her.I have a good vet that takes care of my other 2 steers so yes i have a vet to. Id just like to buy a nice cow.

I live in Pennsylvania. I would like to buy 5 more nice family milk cows!

Normandies and Ayrshires only, please. I need verification of B Kappa Caseine gene prior to sale on the Normans.

Figgured I'd post in the want adds as well...

Look on craigslist in your area. Ask at the local feed store. Someone can help you find one!

Not sure how far you are from Sulphur Springs, TX but there's a dairy sale there every Thursday and you ought to be able to find what you're looking for there. They sale mostly jerseys and holsteins. I've bought several critters there and have had good success with health.
