Cost of 16% calf feed?

I just wanted to see if I am getting a decent price on the feed I just picked up. It was 16% protein calf feed. I picked up one ton of feed at $12.39 per 100 pounds. What do you pay?

Mike

You have it good. Wish I could get that here. I pay 16.80 per hundred. I pick it up in 1/2 tons 'cause that's what my truck will hold in one trip.

I can get 22 percent grower feed from a Southern States dealer for 10.82 per 50.00. If I purchase dairy chop from our local mill it's 18.00 per hundred, and it's 16%.

I'm paying $180 per ton here for 16% grower ration but I have to get it in a bulk sack. Works out pretty good as long as you have a tractor equipped with a loader to unload it at the house. I just raise it up over a 500 gallon round water trough in the barn and dump it in. I then use a scoop shovel and five gallon buckets to feed it. A tarp and some bungee cords help to keep the critters and chickens out of the trough.
