I have no self control~ two new holstien heifers

I really wanted more bottle babies this year~ but I'm going to be down for probably most of June with all my family and friends caring for my animals so I couldn't really buy new bottle babies and make even more work for my helpers. So~ I have been resisting.......
And then I saw these girls.....
They are just weaned so no bottles for my helpers. By June I'll hopefully fatten them up some and they'll just need clean water and maybe a bit of grain for their care.
They are so pretty~ I just could not help myself! My husband asked me what I was going to do with them since I already have two yearling jersey/holstien cross heifers. Well.....I'm going to enjoy them, fatten them up, teach them to halter and stand and then sell them as family milk cows to someone else (I hope).

Aren't they pretty!
I suppose it could be possible my husband is right and I'm feeling the need for babies because I can't have any more human ones and my youngest son is going off to college this year. He could be right. Either way~ it was awfully nice of him to let me buy them when we both know we don't need them and he's going to have to take care of them next month.

Ha, ha, ha!!!

You better watch out Cheryl...before you know it you will be a Dairy Farmer.
(& that requires taking a vow of poverty.)

Congrats on your new herdmembers.
What are their names?

So far the smaller whiter one is "Freckles" for the freckles on her nose. The larger darker one is "little Ms. Apples" because she is a serious freak for a slice of apple! Don't know if those names will stick or not. Apples just doesn't seem to be a good name for shouting....which is usually my litmus of a good name. Can I shout it? Yes? Well THATS YOUR NAME!
