Fence for heifer

Would 3 strands of hot wire be enough to contain our Jersey heifer?
I know it kept our horses in without an issue. . .she'd have about 5 acres or more.

That should do it. We use 1 strand of electric at times to fence our cows in.

I would think that would work just fine, just make sure she can see it well. I always take some rags and rip them into strips and tie flags on the fence so they are sure to see the wire. thanks Marc

I used one strand last year - it was that rope-type electric fencing. Didn't stray outside even once. I have them behind 2 strands now.
