I'm a little picture happy.

Y'all have lots of pictures to look at tonight!
So, I just took these not even 30 minutes ago!
This is Opie at 6 weeks 4 days. He made lots of new friends with the beef cows! I'll cover all those cows in a few minutes.

So all these big ol' black cows as I call them belong to a guy that leases the pastures from us (We use to have cattle- Braunvieh, Angus, Charolais, Limousin, 1 Santa Gertrudis, and some Brangus) . They provide hay for my horses... they get to keep their cows here. It's a pretty good deal for them since we have a complete set up. The 'original' group of these cows came from an older lady that had them as pets and they are the sweetest cattle I have ever been around. They are BIG cows too. Anyways, here they are.

Me too. It takes my mind off of his previous claim to fame. LOL.

Beautiful shiny critters on nice green turf.

Here are the rest of the photo I took earlier today!
This is my favorite cow they have. I think she is absolutely gorgeous! look at her eyes!! I have never seen a cow with light eyes like this. I'm a fan of big animals- clydesdales, great danes, etc. This is a huge cow. I just like her alot!

Her eyes compared to a 'normal' cows eyes.

and she is so sweet too!

take a look at this handsome fella

He has a 'twin'... not literally. but they look exactly the same!
I'm a little picture happy. - Cattle
the only non black baby- well there is a charolais calf but I don't have a picture of it.

They are begging me to let them in where Opie is! Where they are standing use to be knee high in Rye as well but they demolished it in about 3 days... and they were only in there a couple hours a day! They got a little taste of Opie's pasture today. Then they got booted back to the front pasture!
I'm a little picture happy. - Cattle (please excuse those ugly spring gates. you can tell which side my horses stay on and which side the not so smart cows stay on. They always just walk right through them!)

But for now Opie has this pasture all to himself, until tomorrow when the big cows visit for a while (eat all his grain and knock over his water.. gah).

Was that camera difficult to learn how to use? Is this your first DSLR? I've really been wanting one but am scared of the price and difficulty for a beginner. You should get a close up of that cow's eye. That's neat looking.

I still haven't learned how to use it completely! It is my first DSLR. I would definitely recommend it. It's a great camera! The price is scary... but I feel like I already got good use out of mine!! If you want to buy one go to Best Buy. They do the price comparisons and I got it for 100 dollars cheaper at best buy with the Sams Club price.

It takes great pictures and I don't ever use my little point and shoot much anymore unless i'm on my horse

I am allways amazed that ya'll can get the animals to "pose". By the time I get the camera or phone ready they are off doing something else and I miss the pic worth saving. Nice pics.
