Job wanted

Hi my name is Ben and I am currently a student at Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute. I am majoring in Beef and Sheep production and management. At the end of this school year I will be graduating. I will have an associate’s degree. I am looking for a full time job. I would like this job to be farm related, mainly working with livestock. I am not ready to be a beef herdsman. I need to gain some more experience I have worked on a dairy farm since I was 15. I am looking to work in Southwestern PA, southeastern OH, WV, and western VA. If you have a position like this or know of anyone that does I would appreciate it if you could give me an email at bcsheetsII@hotmail.com Thanks

Hey buddy try looking in Texas, spring time is calving time and lots of ranch's need experienced hands to ride herd during calving season. Also try feedyards, they hire and fire everyday. Good luck

Try Kansas and Oklahoma. Kansas tends to have more of what you're looking than anything.

I would recommend expanding your search, too.

We've lived and worked on ranches in several states in the High Plains area. There are still plenty of jobs out here for those that want to work.
Some of the sources I've used over the years:
The Fence Post (NE/KS/SD/WY/CO)

The High Plains Journal

Hansen AgriPlacement (they serve nationwide, btw, but they're an employment agency and you have to register with them to get full info) has Dairy jobs, as well as Farm/Ranch/Feedlot.

Midwest Messenger (if you check the menu bar at the top you'll see "Ag Sites" that'll link you to their other ag. publications throughout the Midwest and West)

If your willing to travel a lot of places are hiring wranglers and cow watchers right now, find your states work source office(do a google search). You find more up to date and accurate postings there than on a lot of ag sites

Try looking in the classifieds in the back of the Hoard's Dairyman magazine or possibly hansonagriplacement.com.
I've noticed several herdsman jobs there lately.
