Question Alfalfa cubes=hay?

A 50 lb. bag of alfalfa cubes is equivalent to how much hay? (Our bales are generally around 40 lbs.)

50 lb of alfalfa cubes would equal 1 1/4 bales of hay.

Thank you! That sure would be an expensive "substitute"!!
Think I'll just get a bag for treats for the rabbits....

Cows need long fiber (i.e. grass or hay) for proper digestion. The Alfalfa cubes do not have this since its chopped up into small pieces.

Alfalfa cubes would work in a pinch, but not for long term forage (hay/pasture) replacement use.
