If the Farmer Boss just bought 17 new cows and they have run through all the cross fences on the place and stirred the cows you already milked back into the herd waiting to be milked, you can also bet that the grain auger motor on the south side of the parlor will die too.
No problem there, you can just go get the tractor started and bring around a scoop of grain from the side opening of the big silo. Of course the battery is dead on the tractor, and the scoop will need to be put back on...then you will need a couple of 5 gallon buckets to carry grain into the parlor and there are only 2 to be found and they are full of milk for the calves.
So you can easily just go feed the calves (13) and bring the buckets back to use for grain. It is no trouble to bottle feed 2 never-before-fed bull calves in a dark barn (because the tractor with the scoop of grain is blocking the light from the holding pen).Yeah, there is a flashlight, back in the other barn.
After you get the grain in the buckets and into the troughs you can get back to work on the milking.
Then the first claw on that side will also stop working. Which wont be THAT big a deal, because you have at least 1 cow in each set that has already been milked, right? From the fact that they got stirred up together earlier.
Then here comes the Farmer Bosses son and he has another trailer with 7 more new cows to milk and sort. thankfully that part went pretty smooth, everyone came through the barn. Got some pretty nice looking little FFs in there.
OH! and then, right when you shut down the barn for the night, after some serious amount of spraying down...ahem EXTRA...of course the grain auger will magically start working again.
Ah well. Tonight is bound to be different, right? Maybe I aught to get over there just a little bit early though.
Farming is fun.
