Off to the sale barn

For anyone who is interested, I'll be at the sale barn on 22nd of December. If you are in need of a bottle calf, well I would be happy to help you select a healthy one. If needed I'll give you directions....Anyone interested? Topside

oh, that would be so interesting to go with you and learn from a skilled, experienced buyer! I wish I was closer....

I was a little bit worried opening this post, thinking that the jersey cow who recently calfed was being sent to the sale barn. Glad to read that it is you going to the sale barn instead! lol

I wish you could go with me to our local sale barn. I'm kinda scared to go as I don't know much about calves other than I want to get one or two for our farm and I'm snookered in by big brown eyes....NOT a good combination!

I want to go but it's a long drive and I have a lot family obligations for the holiday (Probably the last year both my sons will be home for the holiday so it's kind of a big deal this year). If I can work something out I'll let you know. Thanks!

TMJ I doubt prices will fall that low...Time will tell. I'm buying small frames this time and hold onto them till summer. My last run I bought one small frame as an experiment, how much to feed was the main concern. Never had a problem, slow growing of course, but that's about it. All went well and that's the calf in the photo. Once again people don't be afraid of sale barn calves, just become prepared....Topside
