Calf with Bone Problems?

I have a calf about five months old, half polled hereford and half Beefmaster. It has had a bad ankle swollen to about double size (right rear) that looked like a copperhead might have bitten it? It has always been able to get up to feed. I check it daily and noticed today it is getting around better but has its left hock swollen and left front knee swollen. Anybody have had a similar problem?

Sounds like he has an infection in his joints. How it started is not that important at this point. If one joint gets swollen then others do...that is not a good sign. Time for some antibiotics, I would say.

I think gone-a-milkin is right, it could be a little staff infection, a shot or two of antibiotics will clear it up. Thanks Marc
