Question Calf with the squirts

I bought a brow swiss holstein cross calf at 2 days old a month ago. he's been bottle fed replacement milk and does drink water on his own and i have seen him both grazing and eating grain. Today when i went out to feed the animals i noticed he was having some diaria issues, should i be concerned if so what now? also i live in washington would it ber advized to keep him pinned up in the barn for the winter or let him come and go as he pleases? its already getting down to freezeing at night here but currently warms up during the day however i know there will be a while where it doesn't.

just had a calf that was a month old die today up there milk replacer to give it more protien and fat you dont need to up the amount you give it just up the replacer your mixing with the water

also if there is blood in it CALL THE VET ASAP it could be the Tocitia or how ever its spelled might not be a bad thing to just take some in to your vet any ways here they charge i think its $5 to run it and check for stuff

mine died from what we think to be that and using all its enegry to try to keep warm since its like 30 then 60 then back to rain and 30s this weather is hard on them the vet told me he has been getting calls on calves going down and its cause they cant keep them self warm and there not getting enough protien to put any in to there system there using it all to try and get warm

might not be what yours is doing i just know this weather isnt good on calves

Is it brown stinky water type? For the most part its getting the time of year for it. The bounceing temps and dampness with low temps sets it off. Treat for pnuemonia and the scours will clear up. Its just like with this N1H1 thing going around. One bug you get is not bad. But, its the other bug that is jumping on board when your down from the first that gets yeah. In this case most of the time a low grade pnuemonia will run the calf down and then the scours appear. Now the calf is fighting 2 bugs and going down hill. They are less likey to get BRD's in the summer. A freind just called me yesterday with a sick calf. Its just that time of yr.

I put it in the barn when it is cold and let them out when it was warm. I plan on stalling my six-month olds at night through the winter. Just a percaution. I don't let them stand out in the rain unless it is summer weather. It's probably overkill, but it was my $ that bought them.
