I finally took the plunge on once a day milking!

I asked a couple of weeks ago about milking a cow once a day. I took your advice and went for it yesterday. She was giving us about 1 3/4 gallons morning and night and last evening on the first day she gaves us 3 gallons.

I must say the hardest part was watching her stand there and 'moo' at us all day. I'm just not sure why she was mooing, was it because she was in pain or was it just 'hey, where is my cracked corn!'

It's been 6 and 12 months since she had her calf so it was nice having a morning off!

Cows are creatures of habit; she'll get used to the new schedule. Give her time.
