missed a priceless photo opportunity
Yesterday when we got home from church our power at the house was out--not a huge deal, but it's critical for my Daddy's chicken houses down the road. Usually if we're out, they're out too and he wasn't home to know. We rushed in to change into work clothes and as we're changing, dh looks out our bathroom window. He says, "Look at that fool cow!"
I look and see a 9-month old bull calf wearing our garden gate like a set of shoulder pads. The gate's about 3 1/2 x 5 feet.
I didn't have time to do anything with him since we were running to start the generator at the chicken houses if needed. And thankfully that was a non-event since the transformer between us and the chicken houses had tripped in the stormy weather. So we came back to deal with the other "crisis."
When we got back to the house I ran for the camera first and as I was walking toward the VERY skittish bull, he managed to step on one of the rungs and pull just right to get his head back through. So though I won't have a great pic to share, nobody had to get hurt trying to figure how to get him out! And I've got my mental image.
