How long?

I'm pretty sure my cow is coming in heat this morning as she's being kind of vocal. How long do I have to get her with a bull?
TIA,
Mickey

It could be as short as a few hours or up to a couple of days. This link explains it fairly well.

Well she wasn't showing any signs last night, but I can't get her to the bull until Saturday so I guess we'll have to wait and catch her next month :-( I'll mark the date on the calendar and get her over there a week or so early.
Thanks for the advice.

Most of my cows have a 3 day cycle. They begin mooing and staying close to the bull the first day. The second and third are spent with him trying to mount her as she moves away. On the third day is when she stands for him.

Sounds like Thursday, Friday, Saturday to me. The timing could be just right.

Is it a jersey by chance? They can be real vocal when they are bulling. Yeap as the rest said in the next couple of days.

She's a Dexter. She's not saying anything today so we're going to wait until next month and get her over to the bull a week early to be sure she's there at the right time. The bull is about 1 1/2 hrs away so I don't want to truck her all that way just to find she's gone by.
Thanks everyone,
Mickey
