Another one ready to go

A little early for him but the freezer cries out to be filled.
Bought him as a 110 pound calf last May.
Pasture summer hay winters 4 lbs of a 16% grain a day.
Looks might tasty and tapes at 1321.
Tomorrow is his big day.
Please excuse the dirty camera lens....

As far as I can tell he's all holstein. None of the usual signs of a Jerseyx on him.
Like brown hair certain markings etc.

sammyd,
I noticed a collar on the steer. Did you keep him tethered. It almost looked like he was tied to the feed trough. Or, is this just something you use to handle him in and out of the pasture?

He was tethered to a hutch as a calf but ran free all winter and this summer.
Slipped a collar on him so the slaughter guys could get him.
He's actually tied up with a chain around one of the garage poles.

This was him last year eating down some weedy third crop.

I delivered a home raised angus steer on this past Monday. Live wt. 1445 hot carcass wt. 920 dress % 63.66 age 15 months. This guy ran on pasture and was finished on grain with limited pasture access. I have a home raised angus heifer to go on the 29th. She will be 14 months and will probably finish at 1050 to 1100 lbs. The steer is yg 2 overall fat cover he will hang 14 days before we split him for quality grade.
