Calf losing hair

Sorry for asking a question that has been addressed a thousand times before, I can't find the thread.
I have a jersey calf I got off the farm along with 4 others. I sold all but 1 and plan on keeping him. They all had what appeared to be dandruff when I first bought them and now the one I have left has a small area of hair loss on his spine. Its about the size of a nickle right now. I'm assuming it is lice but I don't know.
QUESTION - WHAT SHOUD I USE AND HOW SHOULD I USE IT. I read that if you have grubs don't use a pore on lice control but if you don't have grubs use the pore on? I never treated him for anything since we got him. Is there a product that will take care of lice and internal worms also?
His coat is fluffy and not slick is why I think I need to treat him for internal parasites also. don't know how old he is but when I got him a week ago his belly button was already healed up so I'm saying at least 2 weeks. His poo is normal cow poo. He doesn't appear sick in any other way other then being little. He is outside alot and may have fleas from our dog. The baby was in the grass the other day and got eaten by some bug. Guess I need to treat the yard too. The calf appears itchy with licking himself and rubbing head agianst stuff.
Sorry to ask a questioon that I know I have seen before. I didn't understand the significance of grubbs or no grubs and I think topside said to use the poor on but just wanted to check.
Thanks,
Lori

The calf has lice, ask me how I know. I had the same problem and was told to use Ivermectin pour-on by some members of this forum. It did the trick. I used a normal dose for parasites and it took take of the problem.

You don't have to treat the yard; lice are species specific and have to have live blood to suck on ... ie your calf. Ivomectin will do the trick or Eprinex (also Ivomectin but milder). Also as the saying goes "so will a good dose of sunshine". However if the spot is nice and round, could be roundworm, which requires an antifungal and if it is unevenly shaped might be mange, which Ivomectin will get rid of also. L
