I am selling one of my 3 months heifer jersey cow.

Hey.
I am selling one of my dairy heifer. The reason I am selling her because we may have to move in 2 weeks or less. It is hard to say. She is big and healthy. She is already being wormed and etc. Anyway. She is not on bottle anymore. Been bottlefeeding her for 12 weeks with goats milk. But I have a questions before I can sell her . I want to be sure that she is not sterile.

What labs should I sent the blood work to? The vet said it will be smart to use the blood work and it is more accurate and keep saying that my both heifers are fine and is able to breed. But I want to make sure before I sell her.

I am selling her 500 dollars is that reasonable for that price for 3 months old? Becuz I brought her when she was 3 days old and it cost me 300 dollars. Let me know if you want to buy her. I can try my best to work with you.. I am from South of St. Louis, Missouri.

There is a picture of her in craigslist. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/grd/1283621281.html.

Thank you so much..

Yes that is a fair price and she should sell quickly. If she doesn't I wouldn't blame your price I'd blame the economic turmoil our country is in. Here is something to think about in the future: a calf bought for 300 and sold for 500 in a 12 week period equals only 2 dollars per day profit...Don't get angry but that is pitiful, consider holding onto her longer if possible for a better price. You have worked you bu$$ off, milking goats, feeding the calf, grain, disbudding, worries, rear wiping, fuel, worming, for 12 weeks, it's tough I know. If I don't at least double my initial investment then I just don't sell....You may not have that choice, in the future try to buy your heifers around 200 and sell for 500 or more. I'm also trying to sell a heifer ($650), no bites. One year ago I could sell her for that price or more. Tough times are here, and makng money in the livestock game is tough to nearly impossible....Yes that's a good price, I'd also add another photo of her closer up, just might speed up a sale.....I'm not picking on you just trying to make a point for anyone who is reading your thread....Keep in touch,,,,Topside
