The jersey cross is a little over a year. I'm getting ready to butcher him because he's getting to be a little devil. Babe, the holstein is three months, or something close to that. I got them both for about 12 bucks each, so all in all I don't think I did too bad.

Yes, nice pics. Tell us about these guys.

You got em tethered and they look pretty used to it.

They are used to it, and do pretty good. I would rather not have them tethered, but the guy that is supposed to come punch my post to put up my fence has not shown yet, so they'll remain tethered until he arrives. Once my post are in it won't take long to put up the high-tensile wire; I'm just waiting on him. He's in hay right now, so I understand, but I hope to have it completed soon. I've got a smaller pasture, but I've got bottle calves in it and I'm afraid to put the older ones in with them, especially Chuck, the jersey.

TSyork,
seeing these pics made my day! My grandma used to tether the steer calf from her milk cow every year and it was my job to go move him to and from shade and new grass several times per day as a kid. I really don't think he needed any new grass but grandma thought I needed something to do! I wasn't to fond of the chore back then but it would be worth it to get some of grandma's cookin' today!!!!!!!LOL
