Just have to tell about my cow...

I've got two angus out in the pasture, a steer and heifer. They are both yearlings. The steer, Porterhouse, will be going to the butcher this fall (hopefully) and the heifer, Ribeye, will be bred next year.
I've been training both of them to come when I call and to accept handling. I use just a little grain. They both come charging up to me when I call. Now Porterhouse seems to know what I'm up to and isn't too trusting. I think he thinks I am looking at him like I want to eat him . But Ribeye jumps around like a 600 pound dog. She actually "cavorts". It's very funny and the neighbors get a kick out watching me feed the cows. Previously, both cows were semi-wild and wouldn't come near at all. I've never seen cows jump around and play like that (at least not grown cows)... is that normal behavior? Maybe she's just a hyper teen, lol?

Our dexter girls kick and play - they also play chase with our sons (when the boys run outside of the fence, the cows chase them on the inside). Our bull is quite different - DH laughs that he saw him break into a walk once.

my hereford steer calf did the same thing. He also took to rolling his round hay bales around the pen until it was wedge up against the fence or stuck in a hole, lol. He had a weird relationship with those hay bales, lol
