Jersey bull - how old

How old does a Jersey bull have to be to breed back my cow? At 6 months he is a lot shorter than my cow. We are planning to slaughter him in the late fall/early winter, but was thinking I could use him to breed back my cow before then.

There are always those few early bloomers that can do their duty at 6-7 months. Most are closer to 10-12 months.

Has he started showing interest in the cow when she's in heat? He could be able to breed her as early as now, but he may not reach sexual maturity until he's 8 months or older.

Never underestimate a Jersey bull !!!!!...........he'll get the job done way before you think he can.
