Feed For Hereford
Can anyone tell me approximately how much hay a full grown hereford cow would need for 7 months? I have round bales weighing approximately 1000 lbs each.

7560 lbs of good hay minimum if you do not waste the hay

You need 9 or 10 big bales, the round bales leave a lot of waste, and when she gets down toward the bottom she will leave a lot of it. Be sure to keep a mineral salt block out for her too.

You would streach the hay better if you pitched some off the bale to her each day. Less waste than if you sit the whole bale out.

This is what we do and they last at least twice as long...very little waste.
