English Longhorn

I had the opportunity today to see a few English Longhorn cows and a calf too. I've never seen this type before (around here it's mostly Holsteins with the occasional Jersey, Brown Swiss, and Hereford).

The guy working there said that there were very few English Longhorn cows in the States. Anyone know where I can find the stats on the numbers. I think I read somewhere that there are less than 300 registered in the world.
