Some Questions...

For those of you with experience, they are probably stupid..

We are looking at purchasing a Jersey that just freshened for the first time in April and has been exposed back to a Jersey bull. She is a 2 y/o. We weren't looking to purchase until we got moved, but she looks good and we are having a hard time finding Jerseys out in western North Dakota...

They say she is currently milking about 3-4 gallons a day.

I guess my questions are:
- We move in August. Should we dry her up prior to that? It will be a 4 day trip min. with a stopover. If we don't dry her up, would we be able to continue milking her through the trip and once we get to the new location? Or would it be too much stress?

- What would you consider a good price for a 2 y/o that is exposed back to a Bull and is milking 3-4 gallons a day? I have asked if she is halter broke and such. The guy said he milks her in an open pen while she eats that she's real docile...

I have 2 photos, but don't have them uploaded online to provide a URL to attach to this.

I forgot...what supplies would we need to get us by with milking her between now and getting settled in ND? I would want to minimize the amount of stuff we have to move. I imagine a SS bucket to milk her, some sort of strainer - I have mason jars to store it and have been following the conversations about milking throughout the forum for a few months now.
