Update about my heifers

The vet came over to see my calves.. He came to show me how to disbud them. They are different ways than what I normally do with cows. Very different. It turns out fine. Anyways

I ask the vet to look at the newly heifer to see if she is really intersex or sterile. First thing he asked me if she was a twin to bull. I said nope. The owner said she is sterile and she is not a twin at all. He looked at me funny and said that is odd what the prevouis owner said. He looked at her and he said she looks good and healthy and got all the female parts there. I am like okay how can we know for sure. He goes well wait until she is little older to see if she can be bred or not (by testing that tube in her rear to see if she have hormones or whatever it is called).. That is all I wanna to let u know.

I am still puzzle about her.. Oh well.

You can tube her at this young age to get a good idea.

The magic depth is 7mm or better. Also, the tube does not go strait in. Lots of good sites will show/describe the way to do so.

My vet said the only way to know for sure was to wait until they were about six months old and then let his do an internal exam. It is difficult to tell for sure at a young age.
