Thats as good a sign of spring as seeing the dogwoods bloom, glad to know they are continuing the cycle.

I asked a neighbor about dung beetles and he said when he was a kid in the 50s they were quite common. They use to play with they by taking away their dung ball just before they got to where they were going to bury it. (Dung beetle balls probably made great ammo for a slingshot.)

I've twice bought a batch of them and tried to see the farm with them, but they just don't seem to take.

Ken, I have the small and the large version, lucky I guess...Then again maybe it's the altitude or poor soil needing a helping hand....Topside

Topside, if any of them are looking for a more southern location--if they're feeling a little crowded or something--you can send some my way. They'd still be close enough to visit.

We have some of the littles, but I've never seen the bigger ones here.

Happy for ya!

Looks like I need to do a dung beetle photo shoot, the sun is shining first time in many days...Until then, here is two of my boys who are experts at providing dung beetle nutrition.

Cute cows.

I assume that dung beetles won't live in Oregon. Too cold?
