Dairy Heifers 4-Sale-Mountain View, MO.
Morningland Dairy has dairy heifers for sale. These are not culls, but good healthy dairy heifers. NO twins, guarenteed. All are sired by a Jersey bull. The dams are Holstien or Holstien/Jersey cows. We have two week old heifer calves all the way up to big weaned 6 month old heifers. These heifers were all born in October, November, December of '08, and January, February and March of '09
Prices start at $400 for the youngest heifers and go up to $600 for the weaned 6 month old heifers.
The older calves have all been disbudded and the younger calves are scheduled to be disbudded next week. The youngest heifers are too small to disbudd yet. On hay/grass and grain. Calves 4 months and younger are on milk as well as hay/grass and grain.
1 month old or younger heifers are $400.
2 month old heifers are $450.
3 month old heifers are $475.
4 month old heifers are $500.
5-6 month old heifers are $550-$600.
Pictured are the 1, 2, 3, and 4 month old heifers. I will try to get pictures of the oldest heifers soon.
Please call 417-349-2217 if interested.

Emily,
There's sure no denying they're out of a jersey bull. That dude marked those girls! Good looking group of calves.

Thanks Francismilker,
My personal favorite is #809.
We were planning on keeping all these girls, but it looks like we will not be able to rent the extra pasture that we thought we could. That puts us with just enough pasture for the cows, but not the heifers. So at this point, all the heifers are for sale.

Me too topside!
#2 is now my favorite. I wish I had the funds to come and get her;( Our little heifer that was born a month ago died of clostridial bacteria. Of course we didn't know what was ailing her until it was too late. I wish I could replace her.

#2 calf has been sold. #1 calf is sold pending payment.
While I am very partial to the Jerseys for family milk cows, I have had two wonderful 50% Holstien/50% Jersey family milk cows in the past. They gave very good milk and were docile girls. Also had a 75%Jersey/25% Holstien who was very nice.
So don't count them out.
Also, I just dried off four high percentage Jersey cows who should be freshening between now and the end of May. If they have heifers, they will be mostly Jersey. So even if the calf you want is sold, there may be more.....LOL!

How long of a ride can they stand? I am serious. I am about 9 hours from you. Is that too far?

I Callie, I talked to you on the phone and said $450 was correct. Those two we talked about are actually still in the $400 bracket. My mistake.

Oh dear! I don't know if I can take that! Thanks, Emily.
I talked with the Michigan Ad dept. We had a HUGE scare around here last night - thinking I would have to get permission to bring them in, etc, etc, etc. Michigan is very picky about bringing animals in and transporting them around the state! I thought I was sunk. However, I talked to the nice ladies this morning and ta da! Only a vet exam is needed since they are so young. I will call you later to see if we can set that up!!
I am WAY excited as is DH. (I think he is a little weary talking 'cow')

Callie, just got back from the vet. Both girls now have an eartag and health papers. They also got an hours drive in the back of my truck so they got a taste of the drive they will get on Saturday.
You asked about 9 hours being too long a trip for them.....I'd take a 9 hour trip in a van, over a 2 hour trip in an exposed pick-up bed, any day of the week. I'm sure they will be fine.
