Heat question

I have a 2 yo Jersey who came into heat Thursday and also got sick at same time. Her milk has dropped to 1/2 of normal. Took her to vet and he said was GI, so gave her sulfa bolus, b12 , and dethametisone. Did 2nd sulfa bolus yesterday. Yesterday she came back into heat . Still in heat today. Will steroid cause this, or other things to think of as reason? Vet said her milk may not come back to normal levels. Opinions on that?
