Just Bought A Jersey Cow !!!

I'm so excited......... I was looking through Craigs list for Tulsa, and there was an ad for two Jersey cows with two Holstien bull calfs on each one. He wants $1200.00 per cow and calves.................I hope thats a good deal, cause I was on the phone so fast it would make your head spin. I bought a 3yo cow, gentle, broke to milk with two bull calves on her. I love the idea of having the milk when I need it, and the rest of the time the calves can take it. The calves are already 3 weeks old, so I can wean them in a few weeks and get two more to put on her. Plus, she's bred back, so she'll come fresh again in Sept or October. Yipeeeeeee...

Haa ha, I'll sneak her in and tell them it's their homely cousin from New York !!! I have big plans to breed her to my Dexter bull next time for a "Belfair" calf. She's bred to a Jersey, so of course I'm hoping for a heifer. I think I'll probably sell one of my Longhorn cross cows that has a Dexter X heifer on her, I'm about to get too many cows for my little farm.......
