The Raw Milk Debate

http://www.lifestyleblock.co.nz/vfor...ad.php?t=17293

This is a link to a poll I started on a home-grown web site similar to this one. The idea isn't to open up the debate again but to give a different perspective from a country that relies nearly 100% on agriculture, the largest part of which is made up from dairy produce. The results may surprise some of you.

I have also asked Ken to lock this thread if he sees fit.

Cheers,
Ronnie

How interesting. Thanks for posting the link. We've been drinking raw milk since January and love it. As most of you know, Ken has a lot of health problems but when his lab tests came back a few weeks ago, we were shocked. His cholesteral and triglicerides (wish we had spell check) were way down and the only thing different in our diet is the raw milk. Don't know how that worked but it did.

Please note piglady's Ken isn't me (Ken Scharabok).

Again, if this thread turns into yet another debate between the raw milk vs pasteurization sides I will lock it down. There is a forum on Dairy. Perhaps take it there.

Ronnie thanks for that link. It is refreshing to hear what folks where you are think about this (contraversial!) topic.

There was some mention of the "homogenization" of milk in that thread too. Here in the US I have never seen store-bought milk that was NOT homogenized. Is there such a thing anyone?

I had a similar experience with my cholesterol. It dropped 77 pts and the only change was the milk.

Thanks Ken, also to those of you who commented as well as those who decided to look but not comment

Although not surprised by the results, I do wish I had thought out the options a little better so as to give a broader view but never mind, I think the general idea still came across.

Cheers,
Ronnie

If you think things will get loosened up, just read this as food safety will get tightened up even further.

The nation's food safety system is a "hazard to public health" and overdue for an overhaul, President Barack Obama said Saturday as he filled the top job at the Food and Drug Administration.
With statements like that come to your own conclusion.
