First Dexter Calf of 2009

Our first calf of 2009 was born yesterday ... a cute LITTLE dun bull calf, Dexter.

Thanks! We were excited that she (Chick) dropped color. Since she's black and the little guy's daddy is black, we weren't too hopeful. But Chick has good color in her line. Her mother is dun and her father is red...nice to see it work out in our favor!

I hate to rain on your parade, but Chick's dun didn't do it by herself. The little guy's daddy had to carry dun also.

It takes two to make a dun calf.

Great looking calf!! I have one coming soon, too. Momma is a dun, daddy is black. Last calf she had was black.
