Maps

Can anybody point me to a link that gives a good, clear map of the USA and preferably with the zones depicted. Or even better, would it be possible for somebody to post me a wall map giving agricultural/climatic information?

I have decided that if I persist in partaking in an overseas website that is predominantly based in the States, I need to have more information to understand where your all coming from. There are huge differences in farming, farming practices, climate, diseases etc. which is confusing enough but I find I get even more confused because my geography of the States, while not being too bad, is hardly top notch either. Of course the ideal solution would be to spend time there but I can't see that happening anytime soon

Cheers,
Ronnie

This is a good map that shows the growing zones.

This is a neat site as well. We like the drought zone map.

Yeah, I guess there's no point looking at a map if your grass ain't growing. Heather

Thanks for those links Up North but being a fussy bugger, not quite what I'm after. I've saved the sites and will go back in for a peruse but I want a map that names all the States because while I know where some States/places are, I lose it when it comes to others.

MP, I doubt that I would be allowed to move to the States. From what I understand they have got really tough on immigration. I would love to spend some time there traveling around and looking at how things are done but even that would be difficult. Not that I've looked into it because in the shorter term it isn't on the cards anyway, I'm just reiterating what I've heard.

Cheers,
Ronnie

Yeah, Ronney, I had a friend who was from NZ who had a heckuva time trying to immigrate here. She tried and tried for years, and all they would give her is a green card. She was good at pushing cattle, too. I lost touch with her a few years ago, so I don't know if she was ever successful.

Ronney,

Try this link:

http://www.united-states-map.com/usa7241.htm

That should give you the names of the states, although it doesn't show Alaska or Hawaii. The states in the north-east corner are scrunched in together, too.

All the best,

Donal
