Advice on Bull

I raised a Charlet bull suppose to been steer but they missed one. He is 15 months old and has become a little ill tempered! All I know to do is have him butchered and was wondering if I need to put him on feed for awhile before slaughter? This is my first cow to raise and kill and need some advice on what I need to do? I have him on about 3 acres of pasture and been feeding hay. What do I need to feed and how long?

Depends on if you want grassfed or grainfed. I personally prefer to put them on a ration of chopped corn and alfalfa pellets with some hay to add for roughage for a few weeks before slaughter.

If you can, put him on grain for 60 days before slaughter. Corn and alfalfa pellets would do fine. Other rations may include soymeal. Check to see what is available locally. Only do this if you have a good secure place for him and can feed without puting yourself at risk. In my experience, a charlois bull is one of the most tempermental of the beef breeds. Be very carefull around him.
