bottle calf info??

I saw a thread awhile back on raising bottle calves and thought it was going to be turned into a permanent sticky?

Well, I'm getting a bottle baby and wanted to review the info-can anyone point me to the place where it might be.

We've done baby goats lots of times but a calf will be different, I'm sure.

Thanks,
Harplade

thanks for the info-I've bookmarked for future questions. He just arrived-nice looking calf. We'll feed in the morning as he sucked from Momma for the last time tonight. Wish I could have gotten two but the guy says they're slowing down in birthing so maybe next week I can get another.

I'll let you know how everything works out.

It's a Holstein calf off of a dairy farm. Sucked down a bottle this morning-we're trying to keep everything clean and sterilized-we have cold weather for us (50's during the day) but bright and sunny for the next week or so-hope that helps give him a good start. He's got a stall in the barn, tomorrow we'll let him out to try to graze some rye grass and get some sun. He's so cute but he will be dinner, hopefully.
