Pic after freak storm

Thought I would just share this pic that for some reason I find enjoyable. Just a few evenings ago the wind was so storng I could hardy stand as I attempted to move the cattle. Within minutes, there was a break in the weather and it shifted to this which only lasted for 3 or 4 minutes. Following this hail or sleet was falling.

This is how the storm appeared prior to the above pic.

farmerjon, Thanks! Cows and mature heifers are just under a 100 head if my count is accurate. I cannot count them in the pasture and I only get a true count when I sort to send calves to market. Even then there is room for doubt as my wife, the designated gate tender and counter, cannot tell a heifer from a cow at times.

I always enjoy your posts and pictures. As a kiwi all I know is grass based livestock farming. To me housing grazers and/or browsers seems almost cruel except in the very worst of weather. (Sorry to those of you who house your animals but it is just what I have grown up with).
