Tannins in water concerns?

Does anyone know of any issues with watering livestock with naturally occuring tannic water from decaying mater etc.?

The amount of tannic acid in a flowing stream offers very little risk IMO. However, I have read that tannic acid from eating too many acorns can be detrimental to cattle. Mine eat acorns and I have to yet see a problem.

We have several ponds that are surrounded by oaks and so far there's never been an issue with tannic acids.
