Get two, so they have company and won't go looking for it. Or consider starting with a pair of steers, just to get your feet wet. Basic requirements would include good fencing, access to water (of course) and loose, free-choice minerals, pasture, plenty of hay in the winter; some will welcome shelter too.
I would also recommend making contact with a good bovine vet (before you need one) and making sure whatever you get is up to date on vaccinations (cheap insurance).
You might consider a Dexter, about half the size of what you posted in that ad. I can refer you to someone in your state if you like; just PM me if you want that info.
P.S. Did you ever get "Heart?"

Hi there!
Getting cattle really isn't a reality right now, but if we buy the lot next door, then it will be a consideration for sure, I would actually like to have a couple of Dexters.
I just thought those heifers in the CL ad were cute!
No, Heart is staying with Lori. The transportation train fell through, and by that time it was already getting too cold here, she would have had no time to acclimate to a Michigan winter, and besides, I think Lori had become too attached to her to let her go
ETA, The large animal practice I use for the horses has a great cow vet, so I'd be set there
