Buying cattle in Ohio

Hi,

We have been here in Ohio for 2 years now and I was wondering if anyone knows when is the best time of the year to buy cattle for beef purposes here in Ohio? Thank you for your replies.

Mike

at the Auction sale barns i read that you can buy Bull calfs for cheap - no body wants to feed them over the winter months to buy hay etc. If you have a decent pasture you might wanna wait till almost spring ,but if you can afford to buy good hay then start now with a weened calf that you don't have to pay 30bucks a 25lb bag of milk replacer - if you have a milk cow - thats best -put some vinilla on her nose if she has trouble accepting the calf- have fun .
