Yes and No. I personally would only worm them if the had a fecal test done that determined that they were in need of being wormed, or that it was obvious that they needed worming. Some worm on a regular schedule. If it is a dairy cow, there are only certain wormers that you can use that don't have a milk withdrawal.

I deworm twice per year. 8 weeks after the last hard freeze of the spring, and 1 week after the beginning of winter weather.

I use pour-on in the fall and injectable in the spring.

I also rotate products time to time.

This is for a beef herd.

I know in goats you can tell if it has worms by pulling down their eye lid and if it has good pygmentation then they are fine. If it is white-ish then they need wormed is it the same for calf?

I worm twice a year , use injectable , seems to work a bit better , after awhile you kind of get a feel when they need it by body appearance , if you have a number of head you'll often see one or a few that are just puny. i don't test but just do as routine when we are doing vaccs and boosters , early spring and late fall. about three weeks and the weight gains , coat quality , and overall response to feeds is really evident.

Does anyone here put Apple Cider Vinegar in their stock's water? We had a USDA rep out to our place and he said Apple Cider Vinegar works well against worms. I'm waiting for the details from him as to amount/gal water,. but wondered if anyone here has tried it
