Question Cattle bedding question

Does anyone use shredded news paper for bedding for their cattle? If so, can you still use it for compost?

Thanks.

Hey, I don't use it but there is a huge dairy farm down the road and they use it in their open pens, it sure looks clean and warm. I have been wondering were you get it? I have heard that you can compost it just fine if it is mixed in with other things. I have never done it my self.

I just asked my husband the printer and he said some newspaper's ink is now soy based (compostable) but some is still oil/petroleum based. You can call your newspaper and ask them.
