Jersey/Holstien bull and maybe butcher

We have had a Jersey/Holstien bull for about 3-4 months (our first bull).
The cows seem to have been taken care of and we don't want to keep it around over winter.

We have been thinking about butchering it. I contacted the local department of agriculture's animal specialist and was told that basically, I could have a vet out but if the animal is eating, drinking, walking, urinating and passing bowels normally and has a normal temperature then it is pretty safe.

Now my main question is we have never really had a bull before and this one's patties are very loose, much looser than the cows, but not what I would think of as diarrhea. But it is soupy sometimes.
What would you make of this?
Otherwise he acts normal.

Mike

I would say that what he is passing is normal for an animal eating well.

Actually that is very normal. He is not dehydrated thats for sure. Dairy cows that are fed silage always pass stuff like that, its nasty when your are putting the milking equipment on in the parlour adn they do that. I came home so many times covered in it.

"What would you make of this?"
So your bull has loose patties and you ask what to make of it. I'll suggest compost.
Perhaps he drinks more water. Perhaps he eats different things. Perhaps he digests differently. Not a big deal, really.
I'm more concerned about what breed of cows are you using this bull on?
