this is what our sweet little heifer calf looks like right now... she's 6wks old.... mom and dad both black far as we know. Also, no sign of horns yet, though honestly she wont let me get close enough to touch her head, so there may be horn buds, but I cant see anything...

look at her markings though, isnt she pretty

Now THAT is a cute calf. My favorite pic is the first one, lol.

I'm thinking she'll start turning black probably starting in a month or a couple months or so. And I do see a hint of some horn buds starting.

Wow, that's the prettiest calf I've ever seen. Would be cool if she stayed that color but I kinda doubt it too.

I like pic # 2 it looks like a mask, and it's so pretty around her eyes I have no clue what she'll be, my 2 black/brown have gotten more black this summer and my other is very brown. I like brown cows, I think I'll start a brown herd, lol Oh and the horns can take a while to come in I have a 6 month old who is now getting her buds, but my 3 months old has had them for a while.

I'm fairly certain she'll end up black, look at the eye rings. Heifers' horns seem to take a little bit longer to appear than those on a bull. We have a 5-mo old whose little horns are about 2", maybe a little less. Are her sire and dam horned?

She's VERY cute!

She will turn the color around her eyes. Same with a horse.
