FS: Registered Jersey and heifer Calf - Ohio

My cow calved on Monday with a heifer calf. She is registered and was bred to a registered bull so you can register the heifer calf.

She is a 3 year old in her second lactation. She was a high producer during her first lactation but went on strike about 6 mos. into the lactation. The dairy said it was because the bigger cows kept her from food. I was initially very nervous about this, but I read that usually a cow drops in milk production from lack of either food, water or I htink it was stress. I asked around and others said they felt she would do okay for me and that would be a nonissue.

She does pretty well in the stanchion if given grain. We've been tying her rear leg back and put the kickstop on her cuz she has a tendenacy to shoo with her leg.

Handmilking her is pretty easy. Her orafices are really big and if I were in a position to handlemilk, she'd be an excellent candidate from the cows I've tried milking. I have to machine milk because my husband cannot help during milk times and I have a baby of my own so this is not the season of my life to handmilk. I have a surge and have to lay it on the ground to milk her.

I'm in over my head with her and I just need to sell asap. I paid a premium for her unfortunately. Make an offer for the calf and cow. DH wants them gone this week.

Are you in Ca. or Oh? If you're in Ohio, what part of the state are you in?
