Dd really wanted a little Dexter heifer, so she is excited.

Cali is wild, wild, wild, but only 4 months old, so I think she'll calm down pretty quickly.

Isn't she pretty?

A generous gift indeed and fine looking animals.
It is unclear did dd receive calf or cow&calf both?

No, only the calf.

Dd knows that it will be almost 2 years until she has a calf and milk, but she really wanted to raise the cow herself.

We have a red Dexter bull picked out to breed Cali to next year.

Hi Genevieve,

Glad to hear you finally found a calf. Good Luck and enjoy her.
