Fitting Cattle for Fairs

Hi all!
My county fairs coming up soon, and I have two steers, and two heifers to show. I was wondering how long before the fair you should clip them? I have only ever shown my one heifer once, because I just started getting into showing cattle, and when I did, people there helped me to fit her. So, I know you clip the whole head, but not the ears, half way down the tail, and part of the neck? Is there any where else?
By the way, the one steer is an angus, the other is a hereford/charolais cross, the one heifer is an angus as well, and the other heifer is a shorthorn.
Thanks!
Heather
