bringing bull into herd question.

Have bull up the road that I can borrow to cover my girls.
But have a steer in the same field, will this be a problem for him?

He weights about 600#, and will be taking him to butcher soon.

thanks
bruce

Yes, two of the girls had calves a month ago. One had a calf 2 1/2 months
ago.
locals seem to do this here all the time.
Right after calving, they move everone to a new field and turn the bull in
for a month.

Bruce, go for it. The steer and the bull will probably have a bit of argy-bargy to begin with as they sort out the pecking order and the bull will win out. You'll probably find in a couple of weeks that they are the best of mates.

Don't worry about the calves, he won't be in the slightest bit interested in them. They're no threat to him.

Cheers,
Ronnie
