Wondering about it and have questions.

Hey I am just wondering and trying to think.

I have nice round bales of orchard mix grass hay. I dont know if I could do that or not. I am trying to get weaned baby steer and heifer too. I dont care what kind is it... I am wondering if I could trade the hay for getting those baby cows. I have been wanting to get baby cows for a long time. No one will sell anything to me. I dont know why... Oh well. Just thinking out loud..

Give it a go. The barter system is alive and well and there could be somebody in the market for hay that is willing to swap a couple of calves. I have just bought in 100 conventional bales of hay and would have been quite happy to have paid in kind rather than cash.

Put the word about, advertise in the local paper, use the Buy, Sell & Exchange on the local radio if they have such a thing. You won't know unless you try.

And why will no one sell to you?

Cheers,
Ronnie

I dont know why they wont sell to me. MAYBE they think that I am on SSI check since I am deaf. I am not on SSI. I am married to my husband who works hard everyday. I do work also. I have other critters on the farm. We are fine. I am just tired of struggling hard in the winter time and we need steer so we can have some meat for the winter time that will give me worry free over the food all the time. Oh well. The reason why I want to get heifer too becuz I want to breed her again so We can get the baby calf then if it is bull then u know butcher him if it is boy. LOL. That is all. Thanks. I will give it a try. Thanks.
