Here are the new calves

Here are pics of the calves I got from dousthouhavemilk. They're doing very well so far. Beautiful calves!!!

This is Yummy, the one that Roseanna posted pics of earlier.

And this is Beefy. He's slightly bigger and heavier boned than Yummy - and almost as lovable.

Beefy again with my 4 month old buckling, Kidd. (Roseanna, this is Jubilee's boy!! You know that this calf isn't as small as this pic makes him look. Can you believe it?

These calves are the result of the stray beef bull that escaped from the Sale Barn last Summer/Fall.

He certainly does look tiny compared to that kid. And he is far from a small calf.
Beefy was quite the chore to catch. We found him in the field, away from his mother, and I startled him unfortunately. He took off running (in the opposite direction from his mother). Dad and I followed him and I finally saw my chance when he got hung up in a fence. I tackled him and pinned him to the ground. He is one strong little guy. I'm not a lightweight and it took most of my weight to hold this thrashing, screaming calf to the ground until dad arrived with the halter. lol
Once we returned to momma, he was fine. That was at about 15 hours old.

lol dont you hate it when you have to tackle a calf then wait for some one else to come help you out

i use to have to do that cause my dad was slow and i just ran after them and had to catch them they were quick but in the taller grass was when it was better to catch them cause they tend not to run as fast cause they cant really see. but one day i messed up my knee and foot tripping in a ground hog hole i had to catch a ride on one of our milking cows that liked people and didnt mind me laying on her it was the worst trying to get my boot off cause it hurt and was swollen it got better after about 2 weeks but i still cant run as fast as i use to be able to or take long walks kinda sucks and im only 20 hate to see when i get older

i was only 14 or 15 at the time too

If not for the tip of Yummy's tail, Id swear you had snuck into my pasture and took a picture of my calf Lucy. She is her identical twin but has a solid tail. I was told mine was a brangus. Is that was yours are?

Here is mine. Wonder if the guy I got her from was wrong? She sure looks like yours quite a bit and is supposed to be Angus/Brahma. Their heads are shaped different though.
