Dexters for beef in N.E. Ohio?

Hey All,

I'm getting my pasture ready and am hoping to get a couple of Dexter steers next spring. These don't need to be registered since we're just going to eat them...we just want them to be healthy and manageable.

Anyone planning to have some young'uns next spring they'd be willing to sell?

Also, I asked a similar question a while ago, but I'll ask again. Say we get two or three in early spring next year. Any idea how much meat would be on one if they are on pasture only through the end of October? I know there will be a lot of factors that will determine weight gain, but I'm just looking for generalizations. I'm thinking we might butcher one at the end of October and let the other two grow until the next October.

Thanks!
